Obituary of Maxine Kalcevic

Maxine Elinore (Peffer) Kalcevic, 94, of New Wilmington, PA and formerly of Beaver Falls died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Shenango on the Green in New Wilmington. Born June 4, 1922 in Brady Township, Butler County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde L. and Etta (Thompson) Peffer and the wife of the late Frank J. Kalcevic who passed away on June 28, 2001. Maxine was a registered nurse with a Masters in Education from Slippery Rock University. Employed at Riverside Beaver County Schools for 30 years, a Mary Kay skin care consultant for 17 years, and owned a jewelry business for 5 years. A past president of the Nurses Alumni of Beaver Valley General Hospital, of the American Association of University Women, and a member of the PA Association School Retirees. She was also a former member of the Executive Women Council, Women of St. Rose and a 50 year member of the "Card Club." She was a member of the New Wilmington Presbyterian Church in New Wilmington. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold E. Peffer and a nephew, Curtis Peffer, and a dear friend, Allen "Hap" Hoagland. Surviving are a niece, Dr. Diane M. Peffer, Mesa, AZ and three nephews and their wives: Barry and Anita Peffer, Volant, PA, Reverend Donald and Zoe Peffer, missionaries in Brazil and Steven and Sandy Peffer, Smyrna, TN; and several great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shenango on the Green in Wilmington, PA. in the Community Room. Entombment will be in Williamsburg Chapel Mausoleum in Beaver Falls Cemetery in Chippewa Twp.
