Obituary of Viola Mae Schmidt

Viola Mae Schmidt, 87, of Beaver, Pa, passed away at home on Thursday, June 17, 2021 following an extended illness. Born May 6, 1934 in Pittsburgh, Pa to the late William and Blanche (Gabala) Wilson. She was a member of Brush Run United Methodist Church and the 55+ club. She was Secretary of Frances Farms Tenants Association, a former driver for the Mt. Olive Meals on Wheels, and was best known as the "Pie Lady." She is survived by her children, Colleen (Robert) McLaughlin, Cheryl (Gary) Colombo, Peggy (Randy) Opel, Gloria (Allan) Foster, Gail (Chuck) Miller; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Susanne Painter, Imogene Dupain, Billie Pond; brother in law and sister in law, Mary Ann and Steve Rodgers; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schmidt; a son, Charles Schmidt; grandson, Ryan Miller; brother, Robert Wilson; sister, Francis Cooper; and daughter in law, Yvonne Schmidt. There will be a visitation on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Campbell's Chippewa Funeral Home, 2618 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, Pa 15010. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 11 am with Pastor Thom Scott officiating. Procession to Grandview Cemetery will follow.
