Obituary of Margaret Rose Hodgson

Margaret Rose (Samchuck) Hodgson, 95, of Darlington, Pa was reunited with the love of her life on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Margaret resided in South Beaver Township since 1956 in the dream home built by her husband. The past few months she resided with her daughter Cyndi. Born October 7, 1925 in Freedom, Pa to the late Harry and Anna (Wolonoska) Samchuck. She married her beloved John R. Hodgson, Jr. on June 26, 1945. Margaret was a long time member of Riverview United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and loved to preserve the fruits of her labor to enjoy when the winter winds blew cold. She had a very creative mind and could see the beauty in everything she touched. She loved sewing, crafting and photographing all of nature. She devoted her whole life to her family. She will be remembered for being a very loving woman and a strong disciplinarian. She is survived by her children, Wm. Stacy (Donna) of Coatsville, PA, Larry (Rebecca) of Bolivar, NY, and Cyndi (Larry) McClain of South Beaver Township. John and Margaret were blessed with 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, John R. Hodgson, Jr. on August 4, 2016; siblings, Mary Wilczek, Edward "Lodi", Joseph and George Samchuck, and Emma Frischkorn. Visitation will be Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Campbell's Chippewa Funeral Home, 2618 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, Pa 15010. There will be a funeral service on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Christian Assembly Church, 6241 Tuscarawas Road, Industry, Pa 15052. Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Her family asks that you honor and remember Margaret by planting a tree in her memory.
