Obituary of Albert Harold Betke

Albert Betke, age 94 of Okeechobee, FL, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA.

 

Born September 14, 1924 in Beaver Falls, PA to the late Louis and Clara Betke. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Beaver Falls and the Peace Lutheran Church in Florida. He was a part of the Fighting 36 Army Battalion and fought in The Battle of Rapido River. He was a machinist for Westinghouse for 38 years until he retired and spent the rest of his days living on a golf course, where he golfed almost every day.

 

Albert is survived by his children; David Betke of Beaver Falls, Beth (Ken) Frampton of New Castle, Alan Betke of New Hampshire, Janice Campagna of Beaver Falls, step-children; Wim, James & Cindy Jo Wetzel, seven grand-children, six great grand-children and a sister, Elizabeth Taormina.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Gerry Betke and a brother, Donald Betke.

 

Friends will be received on Monday, December 3 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. in the A.D Campbell Funeral Home, 1326 8th Avenue, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 with Pastor Susan Irons officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations if desired may be made to the Disabled American Veterans organization, 1000 Liberty Avenue, Rm 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
