Obituary of Sonia Rose Smith

Sonia Rose Smith,78, of Chippewa Township died Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Providence Health Care in Beaver Falls surrounded by her loving family. Born May 16, 1939 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose (Magyar) Hudak. Before retiring, she had worked as a secretary for Dr. Walter Dixon in Ellwood City. She was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church. Sonia's interests were in photography and computers and her cats, Kitty, Chloe and Symba. Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Correll "CJ." Smith of Chippewa Twp.; a daughter: Christine (Scott) Herman, Conneaut Lake, PA; 4 step-sons: Todd (Eileen) Smith, NJ, Wayne (Nancy) Smith, TN and Chad (Dawn) Smith, TN, Charles (Lindy) Sommers Jr., New Brighton, three step-daughters, Lt. Col. Tracey Smith, Loretta (Sonny) Curtis, Ellwood City, and Cindy (George) Ferrante, Ellwood City: nine grandchildren: nine great-grandchildren: two brothers: David (Rosalie) Hudak , New Brighton and Jonathan (Chayo) Hudak, TX; two sisters: Susan Loughner and Nadia (Don) Pelaia, all of Chippewa Twp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ken Loughner. Friends will be received on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Campbell's Chippewa Funeral Home where services will be held on Thursday at 11am with Rev. Allan Brooks of the Chippewa United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, PA.
